But lets talk truth. In just the last quarter gasoline prices have fallen from about $4.25 a gallon to $2.55 a gallon. Lets take a moment to consider this.

The average American househould income is $64.000.00. After payroll taxes that gives a 2 income family about $3700 to live on. As a mortgage broker I can assume that a lot of families have the following fixed expenese: Mortgage/Rent $1500, 2 car payments $500.00, food $550, credit cards $250.00, insurances $150, Utilities $180, Cell Phones $80.

That gives them $553.00 to pay for gas and other spending. When gas prices were $4.20 a gallon it cost me $70.00 a week to fill my car. Thats $140.00 if you have two cars. That is $606.00 a month just for gas. No toys for the kids. No going to Dennys for a meal once a week. The average guy wasnt making enough to pay his living expenses.

Today it only cost $390 a month to fill up two cars. Looks like the consumer now has the ability to pay his bills and a little left over to spend.

Don't expect exeryone to start saving this money. Lets see last year the dow was at 14,000 this year 8700. Nope they are going to eat out, buy the new jeans they were putting off. Pay down credit cards.

Lets not also forget the continued rate cuts which equate to lower mortgage payments on our lines of credit. Or the amazing amount of stimulus, several trillion pumped in by the greatest global effort ever.

Lets not forget soon we will have a new President. It will no longer benefit one party or the left wing media to dismiss any positive economic news. Soon the news will once again be fair and balanced.

I am not suggesting we dont have problems in our economy. However, I find it odd that no one is speaking about the dollar being up against all other currencies. That means the rest of the world thinks America is the safest place to park their resources. Soon Americans will think this too.
