Kristi, what State are you in? you need to file ethics complaints at the different licensing division of the lender,escrow officer and appraiser. Then your attorney can bring a lawsuit against their errors and emissions..You can e-mail me at helenalaprotectora@yahoo.com for more help!!

hi to all – i have been looking for some help w/mortgage fraud………..my husband and I purchased some properties, but the info. was all different and we NEVER signed the applications and the income amount is WAY overstated, appraisals are incorrect, etc. – any advice on what to do??? the fbi is aware and so are the mortgage companies but NO ONE will help us – the consumer and it is destroying my husband’s credit………..does anyone know what we can do? thank you in advance……poor consumer

Real estate agents who “also do loans” are doing neither well, put themselves in a dubious (at best) position, and are trying to squeeze too much out of a transaction. How can you possibly have fiduciary duty to your client and be both?

The good news is this isn’t being promoted the way it was a couple years back. Not a week went by in 2006 that I wasn’t asked to also originate loans. “You send them to us, we’ll do the rest, and you get a check.”

Sounds good. But have you heard of RESPA?

I’m writing from Las Vegas and Eve Mazzarella & her husband, Steve Grimm are suiing me for Defamation! I have been volunteering my time to help their clients “victims” of real estate & mortgage fraud to file ethics complaints with the real estate division, mortgage lending division and association of realtors!! The reason they filed a lawsuit against me and Latinos En Accion is because I told her & her husband they were “LOWLIFE,TRAILER TRASH, SCUMBAG, CHEAP PROSTITUTES” and for some REASON they were OFFENDED! I hope anyone who lives in San Diego, should know she has a real estate broker’s license and supposedly her office is in her real estate Attorney’s father’s office, Mark Mazzarella.. The rumor is more arrest to come of lenders, escrow officers and appraisers!! Praise God!!

Actually Sean, it’s roughly 50/50, leaning more towards the loan officers. But then again, like morgan said, there are those realtors who are also pushing their own loans…

I’ll add my personal “ditto” to the acolades for noticing a realtor is apparent in the mix of fraud. I get to musing after all this is said and done why there hasn’t been more press about realtor re-pricing’s of home listings (and “Ahem!”, values) to “better help the underserved market”?

I’ll bet my lunch money that if you can get an appraiser to quote off-camera and off-the-record he’ll attest to the depth of the pressures that come from housing value raises are directly from realtors MORE than lenders or brokers by far.

While there’s pressure to get national licensing for lenders and brokers (i support such), there outta be a doubling of registration fees for realtors. Call it a sort of “impact fee”….
