There is no accountability, only votes. Politicians understand this hence the Barney Fife, I mean Barney Frank legislation and all the other stupid so-called anti-predatory lending bills. Of course, no one stops to ask if anyone can really show that we are in this mess because of predatory lenders and mortgage brokers and if a bail out is really needed. The reality is all the day traders who lost their shirts during the dotcom boom are now losing their shirts in real estate. As I always say, it ain't little old ladies going into foreclosure but specuvestors which is the real irony because the politicians and consumer groups think it is old ladies. All their efforts for a bail out are not saving their poor constituents but the Casey Serins of the world.

The unfortunate fact is that there are way more playa hatas (folks looking for handouts and free lunches and no concept of personal responsibility who support all these so-called consumer groups who are crying for these bailouts) than responsible adults in this country. While I agree with that letter, unless it comes from Jesse Jackson, Center for Responsible Lending, or some other nanny state group it will be placed in File 13 (trash for you non-corporate types).

There is probably 1 person who thinks like that letter for every 100 who wants to gubment to bail them out of their stupid decisions. Who do you think our politicians are going to listen to?

Any mortgage legislation that involves helping the borrower, should also stress the need for guiding the borrower in spending and credit card use and abuse. With this guidance, we may avoid similar crises in the future. After all, we all need financial awareness. The lack of this awareness was the cause of the poor credit rating.
