You've got to admit...
After visiting http://www.countrywidehomeloansucks.com/ If this is what the retail customer has been experiencing for over 10 years... a drastic restructuring would be required in order for even a mere chance of survival. I think they got the message (the CEOs there refer to it as "evolving") that you can only wipe your feet on "the little people" for so long before the big players at your own table won't even walk down the street with you anymore. Thank God that even the poorest of citizens have the freedom to be heard by many on the Internet (well, for now anyway).

No one is being "required" to wear the green "Protect our House" wristbands but they sure are being pressured to..... A LOT of tenured employees are biting the dust right now... I know of at least three 15+ years with CW employees that were cut this week and not a day passes that at least 6-10 of my former colleagues call me to tell me how hairy it has become over there..... Sad to see, sad to hear.... Sad for those loyal people who were cut loose without any regard to their years of dedication to CW.....

Brian,

You must be an "insider" I was under the impression we all had to sport the "green rubber band". I didn't respond at first and was hit with the email a 2nd time, so I figured that was telling me something. Haven't received it yet though.
If you are a CW employee, hope you're well. I've been laid off twice in 2 years from major prime players so my philosophy is that I don't have time to worry too hard if it happens it happens. I'll just work my tail off until it does.

Hi Tike, I believe that the one in El Segundo was closed and that there were layoffs at the Anaheim office on the prime side. haven't heard more than that though.

Ann - I agree. I also think that it is interesting that brokers got the message right away; it sure shows the impact of the internet. I can see them saying, "Well, this thing is going up on ml-implode.com anyway so we might as well tell it our way."

I think the numbers are important. It's October, kids just started to go back to school, the holidays are coming, it's a very tough time to lose a job.

Jeremy - I agree, but I think they've said that in everything BUT word.
