PJ & David - Great points, it is true that regardless of the talking heads the signs don't point anywhere but down for a while to come. At least there are some sane people, but I guess the networks need to trot out anyone that will provide a countervailing viewpoint.

A mentor of mind said something to me many years ago that I live by and that is you have to pay attention to the signs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO matter what the media tells us always look at the signs. The NAR is a joke right now. How can they report that it's going fine and there will be a soft landing soon, mid sized Builders are filing chapter 11's at a record setting pace, 2 large condo projects in my downtown area just halted everything last Friday because the financing went south. Billionaire Bob Johnson back out of a developement deal with the city to build a Hilton hotel. They all need to come clean and stop sugar coating the situation so hopefully we can find the bottom and start to rebuild. On a good note I have been hearing that lenders an stepping up their efforts to prevent defaults with the clients who are about to reset. The strike by UAW over job guarantee's is a tough one to agree with most of us work in right to work states. I do believe you should be given 60 days notice before a massive layoff so you can prepare yourself. If the strike last to long it well really effect the parts suppliers and truckers. I hope it is resolved soon.

Morgan - investors don't see it getting better for at least four more years.

<a href="http://www.housingwire.com/2007/09/19/back-to-the-futures-investors-see-four-years-worth-of-housing-slump/" rel="nofollow">Here's why</a> -- something I posted on a few days back that I think the mainstream media is slowly picking up on.
