Not only do I think he should be fully punished as allowed by law for the fraud he committed and is now promoting… I hope Dan Brown, author of The DaVinci Code, goes after Casey for copying the book cover.

Both good points. I agree that what he did was wrong. I also feel that he shouldn’t be unfairly singled out because he came forward. I believe that all people who engaged in similar real estate flipping and investment schemes be punished equally – regardless if they blogged about it or not.

I also feel that he has a responsibility to his family to do everything in his power to support them. If someone wants to pay him to write a book; he owes it to his family to take the offer and provide for them.

America and the media make the celebrities, not the people themselves – he can soak up his 15 minutes and milk it; but he wasn’t the one that propped himself up as the poster child.

So I am sure that he will have to pay the piper at some point; but I don’t begrudge him for trying to make a positive out of a horrible situation.

I have not been following this like you, however, something in my gut tells me what he is doing is wrong. Hey, I be the first to admit bad things happen to good people, however like you said above, “How to Lie, Cheat and Steal your way in to bankruptcy – the hijacking of the American Dream” rings true.

People who benefit from a scam – writing a book or making a movie – usually have done something in their lives to reconcile their wrongdoing, such as make financial restitution or spend time in jail. Casey has a blog and made himself a scam artist celebrity. Maybe I missed something.
