Our friend, Matt Padilla over at the OC Register posted today about some of the craziest stories he’s heard since covering the mortgage beat for the paper. His list includes:

- Former Huntington Beach mayor Pam Houchen involved in illegally converting apartments to condos for sale
- Taiwan Lee buying homes while in jail
So I thought I’d add a few on to the list of the insanity that is the mortgage market:
- Anyone that’s made my "Why I hate my industry" series
- ‘The Doctor‘ position in shady lending institutions
- Buying higher credit scores
- Shady practices at big companies
Anyone else? There are plenty more to be sure – I for one just haven’t had time to write them all.
