The Status Quo sucks. Period. It is never good. Why? Because the status quo is always inequitable to someone, somewhere. It smacks of the ole’ boys club; of doing things the way they used to be done instead of the way they should be done. Why else does the status quo suck? Because it:
- is closed, not open
- resists change
- resists progress
- lacks opportunity
- lacks innovation
- lacks discussion
- oppresses instead of liberates
- promotes greed and gaming the system
- promotes laziness
- promotes entitlement
- divides instead of unites
This goes for all industries – without innovation and change there can be no progress. Those that choose to fight change choose to fight progress. I choose to embrace change, to embrace progress, to embrace opportunity and innovation. I wish more in my industry would.
