The Status Quo

by Morgan on May 23, 2007

The Status Quo sucks.  Period.  It is never good.  Why?  Because the status quo is always inequitable to someone, somewhere.  It smacks of the ole’ boys club; of doing things the way they used to be done instead of the way they should be done.  Why else does the status quo suck?  Because it:

  • is closed, not open
  • resists change
  • resists progress
  • lacks opportunity
  • lacks innovation
  • lacks discussion
  • oppresses instead of liberates
  • promotes greed and gaming the system
  • promotes laziness
  • promotes entitlement
  • divides instead of unites

This goes for all industries – without innovation and change there can be no progress. Those that choose to fight change choose to fight progress.  I choose to embrace change, to embrace progress, to embrace opportunity and innovation.  I wish more in my industry would.
