Why I hate my industry sometimes – part 5

by Morgan on May 14, 2007

Thanks to Keith over at Housing PANIC for pointing out this floozie doozy of a mortgage advert. on YouTube.  Check it out and enjoy the comedy.  Why I hate this girl:

  • Accredited Mortgage Professional – Can you say 2 years experience and a 120 hour multiple choice exam?  Not exactly the SAT Series 7.
  • Standard pre-approval vs. pre-qual pitch to look like an expert – blech.
  • "If you are fortunate enough to have a large amount of equity in your home, have you considered if your money is working for you?"  … "If not, let’s talk!"
  • Recommending taking equity out of your home for business or pleasure??? Yes, let’s put you in a whole for the rest of your life by buying a new jet ski, boat or luxury SUV.
  • "I work for you and not the bank, therefore I work in your best interests" BS line that gets tossed around our industry.  There is no correlation between her not working for the bank and your best interests being protected. Zero.
  • "My services are … FREE"  Free, as in you’ll pay for my services every month from the jacked up rate I sold you to make YSP from the lender.
