As well covered by Housing PANIC and Calculated Risk, Bank of America’s CEO Ken Lewis has made some waves with his comment:
"We are close to a time when we’ll look back and say we did some stupid things. We need a little more sanity in a period in which everyone feels invincible and thinks this is different."

My take: replace "stupid" with irresponsible, illegal, shady, fraudulent, criminal, malfeasant, etc. and the sentence works even better.
