Yesterday was a tough day. We had to let go one of our people that has been with us since the very first day that we started our company. She was a close friend of my wife, a friend of everyone in here and it just really sucked. I hated thinking about it, doing it, everything about it. Unfortunately it’s just part of owning a business.
We just haven’t been doing the production to keep her and her production wasn’t sustaining her salary. We’ve been through some rough months as a company and we need to be extremely cognizant of each dime that is moving in and out of this place. To that end we couldn’t afford to support her lack of production and had to let her go.
It’s a terrible feeling, but it is the right decision. If you are a broker or business owner I am sure you can sympathize; in a tough market only the strong survive and the strong are the ones that can make the tough choices. To do otherwise would be irresponsible to the rest of the people that depend on us for a living.
