Why I hate my industry sometimes

OK, so I’ll admit I’m way late to the party on this one, but I just stumbled across it on the Housing Panic Blog who hat tipped Housing BoomToni, The Mortgage Broker Hottie on MySpace – complete with Hottie spelled wrong is everything that makes me hate being in the mortgage industry.  She’s a mortgage broker by day and a night club promoter by night.  I just want to puke.  Why doesn’t the term "fiduciary" ring a bell when I look at her profile?  I don’t know – maybe it’s all the T&A strewn everywhere across her MySpace page.

I’m not old – I’m 31, but I understand that what I do for a living is serious.  It’s not slinging loans and making huge rips (commissions) during the day and then slinging drinks and who-knows-what-else at night.  It’s people’s homes, families, kids in bed, pictures on the walls, trophies of t-ball games, and suppers around the table after a hard day of work.  That’s what I think when I think about what I do for a living.

Maybe she’s a nice girl that just comes across the wrong way.  But for my money, any mortgage broker that has a clip of Boiler Room on their MySpace page isn’t getting my business and you should be very wary of giving them your’s too.
