I took the data posted by DataQuick in today’s online edition of the OC Register and "mashed it up" with a Google map of the area to get a visual look of where home prices are rising and/or falling in the OC. The green represents zip codes in Orange County, CA where home prices increased. The red, of course, represent falling Orange County home prices.
The sales data is also in there, but I used the green/red method on the home prices because that interests me more than sales.
A couple of the zip codes, especially in Orange and Irvine were not mapped properly and are clustered around the city center - so if you know where they should be moved to, send me and email and I’ll update the graph.
Kind of fun to look at - maybe the new question will be "Are you a RED or GREEN zip code?" instead of "Red or Blue State." I threw a few TV references in there too, if you can find them.
