Here is a fairly decent article by Marketwatch.com that discusses the differences between mortgage brokers and correspondent lenders, as well as some of the nuances regarding Yield Spread Premium (YSP). I have a lot to say about this topic, but I’m buried at work and won’t be able to respond to it until tomorrow morning. Some of the article is right on, other parts of it I don’t agree with, and some of the answers to the problems just don’t/won’t work.
